Why Is This Conference Needed?
It is estimated that as 1 in 5 couples in the United States experience at least 1 episode of partner-to-partner violence. What does that mean? Whether we admit it openly or not, we all know, work with, or worship with someone who has been violated or has violated another. And this is becoming an increasingly more visible problem among teenagers. Yet, for too long the church has remained silent on this issue, even while victims and perpetrators join us for worship every Sunday morning. Not anymore! Sixth Mount Zion is speaking out against Intimate Partner Violence. We believe that if we talk about it, we can take away some of its power.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. October 15-17, we invite you to Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church for a life changing conference. Join pastors, ministers, Women's & Men's Ministry Leaders, Youth Workers, college students, and others at this conference exposing the prevalence of intimate partner violence in our communities and what we can do to stop it.
